I am currently reading poetry by wonderful authors in Ms. Lyons' fifth grade class. The types of poems consist of cinquains, shape poems, personification poems, rhyming poems, and haikus. There are even a few lowku poems in the mix. YUCK!!! I love the way the students who crated these fabulous pieces worked to incorporate voice, similies, and some examples of onomatopia into their poetry to make them truly unique creations. I recommend that each of you take the time to read and share each others amazing poetic pieces. Way to go fifth graders!!! ~Ms. Lyons
